What is dehydration | symptoms

What is dehydration of the body and what are the symptoms?

Dehydration is a condition that occurs due to: increased body temperature, diarrhea, and fever or vomiting -when large amounts of water and electrolytes from the body are lost. Since we mentioned earlier in our article allergy to the sun, dehydration belongs to the so-called summer ailments. Dehydration is not an innocuous phenomenon, as it may cause damage to some organs, and even death.

Dehydration symptoms

thirst as the main symptom (dried mouth, difficult speech, tongue is thicker and dry)
headaches - which take effect immediately after thirst
poor urination and complete cessation of urination (urine is concentrated)
blurred and hazy vision

In severe cases occur:
  • dizziness and loss of sense of balance
  • muscle cramps
  • loss of consciousness and delirium

If no action is taken it leads to death!
Dehydration of the body - how to prevent it?

Every day you should drink at least two liters of liquid, preferably water, also unsweetened herbal teas, and freshly squeezed fruit and vegetables.

Dehydration – what to do?

In severe cases, dehydration requires medical attention, while in milder forms following beverages can help. Orange juice greatly helps, in 1 liter of water add:
  • ½ a tablespoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • full cup of freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 4 tablespoons of sugar

Allow it to stand for a couple of minutes so the ingredients can dissolve and drink in larger sips. In the case of serious dehydration, pour grapes and carrots juice against dehydration by using a tablespoon.
  • Use the juicer to squeeze the juice from black and white grapes and one carrot.
  • Add a cup of water, stir and drink in small sips in a short period of time.

Dehydration of the body notes

In addition to the above mentioned conditions (vomiting, diarrhea, fever or diuretic intake), dehydration can be caused due to the diseases such as tuberculosis, bronchitis and other. In diabetes and hypoglycemia dehydration can also occur. It often occurs in professional athletes due to excessive physical activity and inadequate fluid intake.
