Ulcer Symptoms and treatment with medicinal plants

Stomach ulcers (peptic ulcers) and the duodenum are actually sores on the lining of these organs, which occur as a result of the weakening of the protective layer which is cause by the bacteria Helicobacter pylori or as a result of taking non-steroid and anti-inflammatory drugs. Greasy and too spicy food, which is often consumed during the cold winter days, exacerbates digestion, existing ailments and diseases, such as gastritis, diarrhoea, constipation, bloating and stomach ulcer and duodenal ulcer.

The symptoms of ulcers are usually characterized as persistent with dull pain in the stomach which appear and disappear at intervals of several days to several weeks. Also, stomach pain can be felt in the middle of the night (on an empty stomach), and calms with the food intake, however, if the peptic ulcer is present on the wall of the stomach, discomfort after meals usually worsens. For stomach ulcer symptoms it is common to have weakening of appetite, loss of body weight, belching, bloating, nausea and vomiting. Stomach ulcers are significantly more common in men than in the fairer sex and the disease is most common in people who are between 20 and 45 years of age.

While the histological characteristics are checked with the target biopsy. In 95% of the combination the above-mentioned method detects and determines whether it is a benign disease or malignancy - cancer of the stomach. If it detects the bacteria Helicobacter pylori, the ulcer treatment is significantly different from the treatment of ulcers that is caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The ulcer treatment has produced good results when reasons behind it are discovered. Among them are usually alcohol, improper diet and stress. Right treatment involves strict adherence which has been prescribed by a doctor and its implementation to the end, as well as changes in diet and lifestyle. If we follow it properly, stomach ulcer does not reoccur in 90% cases. Therapy is attributed exclusively by the doctor and it largely depends on diagnosis. In the case the ulcer is caused by the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, sick people need to line the mucous membrane with a protective layer, reduce the acidity of the stomach and take preparations to destroy causes. Antibiotics are not included when stomach ulcers are not caused by bacteria, but blockers for acid secretion are recommended only.

Some of the most serious complications are bleeding of an ulcer. Bleeding is very annoying because patients vomit blood that is black in colour, looks like coffee grounds, and the stool is black as tar. These problems are particularly serious in older people. Perforation of ulcer is when contents of it are poured in the stomach when stomach ulcers manages to get damaged through all layers of the lining and it can be fatal.
