Low hemoglobin; NUTRITION

Low hemoglobin in the blood is often caused by inadequate nutrition, ie. Inadequate intake of those foods that contain sufficient quantities of iron. Also it can also be caused by excessive consumption of cigarettes, because the cigarette smoke binds to hemoglobin and neutralizes its role. On the question on how to repair hemoglobin diet, we give you a great and simple solutions, these are the foods to be introduced in the daily menu:
  • Red meat, fish, dried fruits, soy products, red and white onions, parsley, chives, beans, green peas, seeds, coriander. Food rich in vitamin C promotes the absorption of iron. Therefore, with each meal drink freshly squeezed orange in order to remedy the low hemoglobin levels. Integral cereals are a good source of iron but contain substances that hinder its absorption, so they should not be eaten at the same time with foods that are rich in this mineral.

Foods that are composed of copper - cheese, seafood, whole grains, egg yolks, green vegetables, apricots, cherries and dried figs also must be included in the menu.

  • Tea, coffee, wine and soft drinks as they contain tannin which prevents the absorption of iron and causes low hemoglobin in the blood. Spinach because it contains oxalic acid, which slows the absorption of iron.

Be sure to avoid foods rich in carbohydrates (bread, pasta, rice, sugar) combined with food rich in iron and the protein (meat, fish, eggs) because it reduces the level of stomach acid, which enhances the absorption of iron.
