Dried plums diet | Experiences


This diet falls in the category of fast diets, and it is intended for all of you who want to loose 2 to 3 kilograms in a short period of time ( 3 to 5 days). Because they are so rich with many dietary fibers, they are often recommended in many famous diets. Besides the fibers, this fruit contains antioxidans (beta carotene), vitamins E, C and phytochemicals which are very beneficial because of their antioxidant properties.

Plums are also rich on minerals, with copper and potassium being one of them. The dried plums diet recommends an intake of 6 dried plums per portion which supply us with around 15 grams of sugar, fructose and glucose and with about 25 grams of carbonhydrates.

Plums are very rich on phytochemicals which will strengthen our immunity, neutralise free radicals and help preserve our cells from damage which can cause cancer.

  • 1/4 cups of dried plums a day will provide us with 17% of daily Vitamin A needs (beta carotene)
  • 1/4 cups of dried plums will alos provide us with 15% of daily dietary fibers, which help with the regulation of our blood sugar
  • 1/4 cups of dried plums a day will provide us with 10% of the recommended potassium needs

An example of an one day menu
  • breakfast: 6 dried plums
  • snack: one fresh apple
  • lunch: a hot-dog and one cooked egg
  • snack: repeat the lunch
  • dinner: a glass of low-fat yogurt

We recommend that only healthy people do this diet

Please consult your doctor before you start with the dried plums diet, physical activities (15-20 minutes duration) are recommended along with the diet.
