Peter D'Adamo is author of the blood type diets. These diets are based on the notion that blood type is important factor in determining diet for each blood type. Peter says that diet for blood type A should be based on light vegetable food. He says that he wanted to make list of food for each blood type. BLOOD TYPE A DIET

Peter D'Adamo continued his father's research by studying the agglutination process that occurs between blood types and certain foods. He believes it is the result of the evolution of the unique blood types. Today we know that every blood type has certain antibodies with their own chemical structure which can be found in our erythrocytes- red blood cells. Peter D'Adamo found out that a chemical reaction that occurs between the blood and the foods consumed is different for each blood type. He made a list of foods that should be consumed for each blood type. The lists also include foods that each blood type should avoid. Peter D'Adamo published his famous book '' Eat right for your type'' in which he explains that blood type is the key to the mysteries of health and diseases.

DIET FOR BLOOD TYPE A EXPERIENCES

People who have blood type A should consume a lot of vegetables because they don't like the meat so much. Ideal food for them is fresh seasonal vegetables – green veggies, fresh carrots, spinach, cauliflower, brocolli etc. Important thing to know is that people with blood type A should not eat a lot of tomato or potato. Dairy products and meat should be avoided because this kind of food slows digestion. People with blood type A should eat food that contains a lot of fibers.

Fish: perch, carp, pike, mackerel or cod, skimmed milk and other domestic dairy products, feta cheese, kefir, parsley, cerely, garlic, spinach, lettuce and other leafy vegetables, lentils, beets, broccoli, brussels sprouts, dandelion, horseradish, beets, blueberries, blackberries, currants, cherries, grapefruit, lemon, pineapple, dried and fresh plums, dried figs, peanuts, oatmeal, bread, soy, pumpkin seeds, ginger, mustard, soy sauce, black coffe, red wine, etc.. Once in a week people who are on Blood type A diet can eat eggs.
DIET FOR BLOOD TYPE A : FOOD TO AVOID:

Meat and meat products (except turkey and chicken, sea fish and fruits of the sea), full-fat cheeses like Trappist and others, high-fat milk, ice cream, butter, cabbage, peas and letils, mushrooms, eggplant, tomatoes, hot peppers, white and red potatoes, olives, melons, bananac etc... The diet for blood type A does not recommend oranges, coconut, mango, pistachio, products from white flour, enriched bread, pepper, cayenne pepper, pasta, almost all types of vingerar, sunflower oil, beer and black tea.

PUMPKIN BREAD

Ingredients:

-1 cup spelt flour
-1 cup oat flour
-¾ cup of sugar
-1 teaspoon baking powder
-½ teaspoon baking soda
-¼ teaspoon of sea salt
-¼ teaspoon ginger powder
-¼ teaspoon clove powder
-¼ teaspoon nutmeg
-2/3 cup walnut
-1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-2 eggs
-¼ cup molasses
-1 cup pumpkin puree
-2/3 cup raisins or prunes
-pumpkin seeds

How to make pumpkin bread? 

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C ( 350 degrees). Grease and flour three 7x3 inch loaf pans. In a large bowl mix dry ingredients and in a seperate bowl mix wet ingredients. Stir the dry ingredients into the pumpkin muxture until well blended. Pour into the prepared pans. Bake for about 60 minutes. Bread is done when toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. At the end sprinkle pumpkin seeds and bake for another 5 minutes.

DIET FOR BLOOD TYPE A: HONEY CAKE:

Ingredients:

-1/3 cup rice flour
-2 cups honey or 1 cup honey with 1 cup of sugar
-1 cup olive oil
-1 cup hot water or coffee
-3 eggs
-2 teaspoons baking powder
-½  wine baking powder
-¼ teaspoon sea salt
-1 teaspoon cinammon
-1/2 teaspoon clowe powder
-¼ teaspoon ginger powder

How to make honey cake?

Preheat oven to 180 degrees C (325F). Grease and flour a 9'' x 13'' pan
In a large bowl cream honey, oil and sugar if using. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. In a seperate bowl, combine flour with sea salt. In a third bowl, combine coffee or water, baking soda, baking powder and wine powder. Mixture should bubble. Alternate adding flour mixture and coffee mixture to the egg mixture until are fully incorporated together. Pour into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour. 

DIET FOR BLOOD TYPE A : BROCCOLI SOUP

This light broccoli soup is ideal if you have blood type A.

Ingredients:

-500 g ( 1 ½ pounds) fresh broccoli
-10 garlic cloves
-2 spoons olive oil
-1  zucchini
-1 large onion
-2 spoons soy sauce
-2 teaspoons curry
-1 l vegetable broth
-salt

How to make broccoli soup:

Preheat oven to 200 degrees C. Wrap garlic cloves in a foil and bake for 40 minutes. In a small bowl chop onion and cook with olive oil. Add vegetable broth and stir until it boils. Add broccoli, zucchini, soy sauce and curry. Peel of garlic and mash garlic cloves into a paste which you will add to the soup. Use hand blender to blend soup while it is still hot.

DIET FOR BLOOD TYPE A : ADZUKI BEAN WITH CHICKEN STEW

Ingredients:

-1 cup of adzuki beans
-1-1/2 (500g) chicken breasts
-2-3 carrots cut up
-1 large onion cut up
-5 dl (16 oz) of chicken broth
-1 cup of water or dry white wine
-3 cloves of garlic diced small
-salt, marjoram, bay leaf, sage
-3 tablespoons olive oil

How to make chicken stew?

Soak one cup of adzuki beans in two cups water overnight. Then cook beans, boil, and simmer for an hour. Brown chicken pieces in 2 tablespoons olive oil on medium heat. Take chicken out of skillet and add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add onion and garlic and saute for a few minutes. Add a little chicken broth or wine. Cook carrots in microwave for a minute until semi tender. Place everything in a large bowl. Simmer the whole lot for 20 minutes or so after adding the herbs.

DIET FOR BLOOD TYPE A : CHICKPEA SPREAD

Ingredients:

-can of chickpeas (400g)
-2 garlic cloves
-2 spoons tahini
-2 tablespoons of olive oil
-1 pinch of sea salt
-½ teaspoon cumin
-lemon juice

How to make chickpea spread?

Mash all ingredients together in a bowl with a fork or mix it with a hand mixer.
